Kippford Bed & Breakfast

Roughfirth House at dusk

“A haven of peace and tranquility”  “The views are incredible, most beautiful”

A warm welcome to Roughfirth House Bed & Breakfast in the popular yachting village of Kippford, Dumfries & Galloway.

Roughfirth House is idyllically situated on a private road lined with beautiful gardens and cockle shell beaches.  With its shoreline location and wall-to-wall windows it has some of the most breathtaking coastal views in South West Scotland.

Guests enjoy spacious accommodation that overlooks the Solway Yacht Club sailing area and have panoramic views across Rough Firth estuary to Rough Island, an accessible bird sanctuary owned by the Scottish National Trust.  When the tide is out, a variety of birds visit the shoreline and we recommend you bring binoculars to make the most of the wildlife.

To the rear of the house, acres of woodland hold many attractive footpaths, one of which leads to Rockcliffe and its picturesque, sandy bay.

Your accommodation is a five minute walk along a scenic, coastal footpath to Kippford village centre.  There are two waterfront pubs serving real ale and good food, a gift shop/tea room, a chandlers, Kippford Lifeboat Station with shop and the Solway Yacht Club.  At the end of the day, why not dine alfresco with your favourite tipple and watch the sun set over the yachts in the marina.

The ideal base for walkers, birdwatchers, nature lovers, garden lovers, golfers, stargazers, photographers and other artists.  Roughfirth House is ideally located for discovering the whole of Dumfries & Galloway and is perfect for anyone who simply wants to unwind and relax amongst stunning scenery.

We look forward to welcoming you to our very special getaway on ‘The Scottish Riviera’.
