ACCOMMODATION:  

The Suite accommodates 2 adults in a double bedroom with the option of accommodating an additional adult or 2 children in an adjoining bedroom (max 4 guests in total).

ACCESS:

There are a number of steps up to the property and all bedrooms are on the first floor. This may make the accommodation unsuitable for those with mobility difficulties. The Suite bathroom has a shower over the bath.

MINIMUM STAYS:

A minimum 2-night stay policy applies as standard and a minimum 3-night stay on Bank Holiday weekends. However, we are flexible on stay durations if there is last minute availability or during low season. In this instance, please contact us by phone to book.

ARRIVAL:

Arrival time (including dropping off bags) is between 4pm and 9pm or later by arrangement.

DEPARTURE TIME:

Latest departure time is 11 am.

CAR PARKING:

There is private parking for guests situated outside the house.

FOOD:

We offer a range of breakfast options including a full Scottish breakfast, vegetarian and lighter options. Evening bar meals are available locally in Kippford with last orders taken for food at 8.00pm. Inns and restaurants within a 20-minute drive include traditional bar food, Chinese, Indian and Italian options.

WI-FI:

Roughfirth House has free Wi-Fi access in all guest areas.

ALCOHOL:

Guests are welcome to bring their own wine and drinks. A corkscrew and wine glasses are provided in each guest room.

COTS AND HIGH CHAIRS:

Due to low demand for these items, guests are advised to bring their own travel cots and high chairs if needed.

NO PETS AND NO SMOKING:

We regret we do not accept pets. There is strictly no smoking in the house and the grounds.

PAYMENT TERMS:

A deposit equal to the first night’s stay is required. The remaining balance is due 7 days before arrival.

We accept secure payments by Visa Debit/Delta, Maestro/Switch, Visa Credit, Mastercard and American Express.

Once you have made a booking, you will receive an email confirming your dates, the number of guests in your party, the amount you have paid and directions.

CANCELLATIONS:

In all cases, you will receive a full refund if we are able to re-let the room for the full duration of your booking.

If a booking is cancelled 7 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to the first night of stay will be made.

If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be made.

As a small business that relies on advance bookings, it is often difficult to re-fill rooms at short notice. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

We advise that you have travel insurance to cover you should you need to cancel.
